Be Aware of Scams

Dear Church Family and Friends,

We want to make you aware of holiday scam attempts that have been targeting churches and congregation members.

Please know that church leadership & members will never ask for money, gift cards, personal information, or passwords by email, text message, or social media. If you receive a message that appears to come from a pastor, staff member, or church leader asking for these things, it is likely a scam.

Please be cautious if you receive messages that:

• Urge you to act quickly or keep the request confidential
• Ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or unusual payments
• Come from unfamiliar email addresses or phone numbers
• Contain spelling errors or unusual wording
• Ask for Church Directories via PDF

If you receive a suspicious message:

• Do not respond or click on any links
• Do not send money or personal information
• Contact the church office directly to verify

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and to look out for one another. If you are unsure about a message or have concerns, please reach out to the church office.
