We begin our Lenten journey on Ash Wednesday, February 14th. We begin this season with our Christian siblings at the United Methodist Church of Chugiak (UMCC). They will host this midweek service for us this year at 7pm. Joy and UMCC are using the same theme for Lent - Wandering Heart. This series looks at the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus through Peter's eyes. The words from the classic hymn Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing will act as a guidepost for understanding the journey that Peter and each of us undertake following Jesus.
As we begin the season, let us turn inward and tune our hearts. Before an orchestra plays together, they must all tune their instruments—the cacophony of this process may be very loud and create lots of dissonance, but it’s a necessary step in the process of creating harmonies and melodies. And so, this Lent, how can you tune the instrument of your heart so that it aligns with God?
